A return visit from the popular, humorous speaker and National Collection Holder of Euphorbia. An ‘all you need to know’ about this very popular plant group showing the wonderful variety throughout the year in the wide ranging genus of 2160 known species.

Don is a retired schoolteacher, has gardened for over 40 years and has been an avid ‘Hardy Planter’  for 25 years. He is a member of three national garden charities, the Hardy Plant Society (having been chairman of the local South Pennine group), Plant Heritage (being chairman of the East Midland group), and the Royal Horticultural Society.

His Plant Heritage National Collection of hardy Euphorbia has featured on BBC2’s Gardeners’ World in 1999 and again in 2012. It has also been featured on BBC TV’s Tatton Park Show programme. he has exhibited  at the Tatton Park Show for over 10 years and received a collection of medals including 2 Golds.

The Collection has also appeared in numerous gardening magazines including the R.H.S. journal ‘The Garden’ (twice), Gardens Illustrated and in a Japanese gardening magazine. It is also listed in the Good Gardens Guide.

He has written 2 books on Euphorbias for the Hardy Plant Society and runs a small nursery specialising in a large range of Euphorbias (including rare and desirable varieties), perennials and Euphorbia seed.
